iOS 14 proxy settings

Hello,

since upgrading to iOS 14, certain apps do not seem to use the configured proxy (wifi setting) anymore. Gmail, safari are ok for example, but linkedin refuses to connect via the configured proxy

Hey there marko136,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand that some apps are not working with your Wi-Fi settings. We're happy to provide some assistance.

Let's make sure all of your apps are up-to-date:

Update apps or use automatic downloads

If the issue persists, this may seem like a simple step, but have you restarted your device? Restarting your device can resolve unexpected issues. Take a look here on how to restart your iPhone:

Restart your iPhone

If the issue persists after this, check out this article for recommend settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points:

We hope this helps.

Have a great day!

Thank you for the reply marko136!

Were you able to follow the recommended settings we provided in our previous message? If so and if you're unable to connect to a specific Wi-Fi network, let's follow the steps here:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network

If the issue persists after completing those steps, try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network. If you are able to connect to a different Wi-Fi network successfully, we recommend contacting your ISP for additional assistance.

We hope this helps.

Have a great day!

Hello,

thanks for the reply - apps are up to date, phone is restarted.

Just to make it clear - there is NO direct internet access via WiFi - the phone (as any other device) has to use a proxy server in the network to access the internet via HTTP/HTTPS.

This setup worked fine until the upgrade to iOS 14 - since the upgrade, certain apps, such as LinkedIn, fail to connect to the internet.
