How to search and purchase. Each time I search it goes straight to apple music , where I cant buy only pay the monthly rental.

If I follow the apple support page, it tells me to click on the album then press the itunes store icon. This just takes me to the itunes store front page where there is no search bar available?

(Is there any other reliable store where I can download purchased albums)

To search the iTunes store in the Music app in Catalina, click in the search box at the top of the sidebar on the left and then click iTunes Store at the top right of the main window. Also see: Buy or download music from the iTunes Store in Music on Mac - Apple Support
