Downloads not working

I have a new (3 day old) MacBook Pro (16", 2019) with many extras. After setting it up, I received a notice of 5 updates available (All Apple apps). After selecting "Update All", nothing happened. Small grayed out spinning circle was going around on all updatable app. I let this go 24 hours but still no updates.

I looked at a few posts earlier but there seemed to be no solution.

Any suggestions?

Sorry for the delay, man.

Boot your Mac in Safe Mode, turn it on and hold Shift.

It's a longer boot because Macs will do some maintenance under the hood. Once up, reboot normally.

Clear the Mac App Store cache

Close Mac App Store

Open Terminal and type

open $TMPDIR../C/com.apple.appstore/

Press Return

Erase all the content of that folder

Relaunch MAP

Hope it works.

I found my security system blocked Apple so I revised the settings. Works well for the moment.
