Swiping up/down on Apple Watch 6 (watchOS 7.0.1) stops working quite often

Keeping your Apple Watch working as expected is definitely important! We understand that your Apple Watch intermittently stops responding to swiping and you have to restart it to resolve the issue. We'd like to assist.

Knowing that you're already fully updated is helpful! Have you also ensured your paired iPhone is updated? If not, here's How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

If that doesn't help or if you're already updated, try turning your paired iPhone off, followed by the Apple Watch, and then turn them back on in the same order.

As another step if the above doesn't help, you can try unpairing and then re-pairing the Apple Watch: Unpair and erase your Apple Watch

Mine has done the same thing. I’ve unpaired and done all they suggested. Still does it. I ended up sending mine in and exchanging it. Just got it yesterday and updated to 7.0.1 and boom, it did it again. I say that to say, don’t send it in to exchange it. It didn’t help mine out. Hopefully there’s a patch coming! Please let me know if you find a way! I’m going to try to downgrade the software update if I can figure out how to do that. Hopefully that will fix for now.
