Magsafe cable fix before it breaks, how to?

My magsafe cable is almost gone where it attaches to the connector on the computer, before it's gone would you suggest how to apply a reinforcement to keep it from breaking?

Grazie

You can use adhesive plastic tape or heat shrink tubing, but you should probably buy a replacement: Find the right power adapter and cable for your Mac notebook - Apple Support.

I have quite a few of those shrinking tubes which would do great but they won't fit through the magsafe connector, tried to make the bigger one looser to fit through but it just won't, might think of opening the magsafe case, unsolder the cable, slide the shrinking tube onto it and then back in place but dunno how easy/difficult that is or if there's any easier fix.

Grazie for your attention

The MagSafe power adapter itself is not easily opened. It can only be opened using a saw which tends to destroy the case.

If you want to cut the cable and slide heat shrink tube over it, followed by splicing the cable together again you can do that. It's not difficult and may be preferable to attempting to open the case.

No matter what you do it will result in an ugly repair.
