Iphone showing unread emails

Hi I have just purchased an iphone se (2nd generation) it came with IOS 13 and I updated through iTunes to IOS 14.1 I now have 19 unread emails in 2 of my 4 email addresses which are not there, trust me I’ve checked. I done the legacy turn off email accounts in settings, powered off the phone, wait 30 seconds, power back on and turn emails back on in settings and the 19 ghost emails are still there. I have tried deleting the email accounts and then reinstall in settings, ghost emails still there. I’m at my wits end, it’s since the upgrade to IOS 14.1 and only affects 2 email accounts (live mail.co.uk) any help would be really appreciated

We understand you can not fully access emails on your iPhone. You’re in the right place, we’d be glad to assist in seeking a solution.

Do these emails show as unread when you check them from webmail? Are you able to delete these from there? Can you send and receive emails from these accounts using your iPhone?

We suggest deleting the Mail app and reinstalling it again following the steps here:

I think that since the iOS 14 update a lot of people are having this problem - (and sadly, I'm one of them) - I expected that with the iOS 14.1 most recent updated apple would have fixed this problem, but they didn't - which it is perhaps an indication that not many people are reporting this problem- I know I did, and they suggested deleting and reinstalling the mail app on my iPad, and that initially did work, but by the next day the issue restarted. - I strongly suggest that you and everyone else who is having this issue calls and complains to apple - which probably is the only way they'll do something about it. - Good luck.
