Make MacBook recognize a bootable USB installer with an unsupported version of Windows?

Hi,

I have a 2017 MacBook air, I managed to install Windows 10 using a bootable USB, however I would like to install Windows 7. Since the Mac is 2017 it does not technically support Windows 7. When I plug in the Windows 7 bootable USB and restart holding down the option key it does not show up in the startup menu. Any Ideas?

Help would be much appreciated :)

Yes, but the reason it is unsupported is not because the Mac can not run windows 7. The reason it is unsupported is because they want you to run the latest version of Windows, being 10 for profit reasons. That’s why I am wondering if it is possible to overcome whatever preventative measures we’re put in place by Apple. Because the hardware can run it, their just not letting it. Any ideas on what prevents it maybe?
