Why does my phone have a orange dot at the top

The orange dot indicates when an app has used your microphone recently or if it’s still in use.

Where does the microphone recording go

It doesn't go anywhere. It's simply when an app uses your microphone e.g. Voice Memos or Camera.

Can anyone ever see it?? And or can I see it
