iPad set-up

I just got my first iPad and I tried to log in with my Apple ID and it just says "It may take a few minutes to set up your Apple ID" but it's been 4 hours???

Force restart the iPad as indicated under “If your screen is black or frozen” here.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support

What other relevant details are you not sharing?

Might you have changed country or region?
Might this be a previously owned iPad?
Might your Apple ID have issues?
Might you not be using wi-fi?
etc. ...

No I didn't change country or region

This is a brand new iPad 2020

I don't know how the Apple ID could have issues

I am using a wi-fi

I had left it overnight and I STILL woke up to the same screeen :(

The wi-fi was on overnight as well, needless to say
