Google Maps on Apple Car Play

With the iOS 14 update I have been struggling to get the Google Maps to show in the dashboard with the split screen on my Apple car play. I have only had Apple Car Play for 3 weeks so I was thinking I was doing something wrong but it worked before the update the one time I tried but today I couldn’t get it to work. I googled for ideas and tried everything and nothing. I can get it in the apps and use it but can get it in that split screen with my music

my apple car play will not let me add google maps. I have ios 15.2. it used to be included and suddenly a number of apps have the red sign next to them and I am unable to add them. My apple car play used to let me use google maps. Suddenly it is no longer included in my car play apps as well as a few others. Now they just have the red circle next to the app and I am not allowed to add it. I have ios 15.2
