Unable to send pictures on iMessage via MacBook

Hello;

I have an issue where I am unable to send pictures in iMessage on my MacBook pro. I can send them just fine with my iPhone. I used to be able to drag and drop photos from my desktop to the message part of iMessage and it would send. But now all that shows up is a blue bubble - no photo.

iMessage is signed into the same account on both devices.

We understand that you can send photos via iMessage without any issues with your iPhone, but you're unable to do so on your MacBook Pro. Check out the helpful steps from the following article: If you can’t send or receive messages on your Mac

"Try these steps first

After trying each step below, try to send a message again.

Restart your Mac. Choose Apple menu  > Restart, then click Restart.
Make sure that your software is up to date. Learn how to update the software on your Mac.
Make sure that your Mac is connected to the Internet. To check your Internet connection, try loading a page in Safari or another web browser.
Check that the date and time is set correctly on your Mac.
Make sure that you enter the correct phone number or email address for the contact."
