Stand activity showing blank bars, not grayed out, even when activity is happening

Has anyone had this problem, where sporadically the stand activity on an Apple Watch 5 shows a blank bar even though stand activity throughout that particular hour has occurred? This is different than a grayed bar that appears for a given hour when stand/move activity doesn't happen and you have an idle hour. I cannot find an explanation anywhere for this phenomenon.

Additionally, some hours I may get a reminder at 50 minutes past the top of the hour to move if I have been idle. Other hours where I have also been idle, I will not receive a notification. Why does this happen intermittently?

As to why they are grey (and you say you moved) I can't tell you why.

As to the notification at 50 minutes past the hour and not getting a notification after that.

If you don't make your stand goal after missing that 1st notification, the watch thinks you are sleeping and does not remind you the next hour. If you do make your goal it will remind you the next hour until your daily goal is meet.
