Mac keeps crashing during OS 10.15.7 installation

Hi,

I have an issue that MacOS keeps crashing during the stage where we have black screen and apple logo status bar. Then laptop restarts and i get a crash report at the startup (adding part of the report). Does anyone know where the issue could be? At the moment i cannot update my MacBook Air (13-inch early, 2015).

At the moment i have MacOS Catalina 10.15.6 installed.

I have already tried solutions found here:

combo updates and updating within safe mode, but the issue remains.

Adding part of the error code, maybe it will indicate something.

These notes from the report stand out:

SSD too slow - SSD is showing poor performance.

Low disk space - This computer is running low on free hard drive space.

While 20GB does not seem to be too low, disk space may contribute to the low performance; however, since this is an SSD, with trim enabled, and is showing poor performance, it looks as the SSD may not be in perfect conditions. If anything, this reinforces the need to keep up to date backups.

Security:

Gatekeeper: Anywhere

System Integrity Protection: Enabled

Antivirus software: None!

This is unusual, as it should say "Apple" instead of "None!".

Also, "Anywhere" cannot normally be set for Gatekeeper in Catalina, so this must have involved a deliberate action to lower the security settings. Bad move, IMO.

Unsigned Files:

Launchd: /Library/LaunchDaemons/pwpwcardmon.plist

Executable: /Library/PWPW-Card/pwpwcardmon

Details: Domain name invalid - possibly adware

This appears to adware. You should run Etrecheck again and follow the instructions to remove it.

As you go about it, take the opportunity to "clean up" the orphan files, also as indicated by Etrecheck.

At this point, it may be worth installing a clean system on an external SSD and testing.

Odds are that some of the system modifications may have rendered your present system unstable.
