need to restore my apple tv by connecting it to itunes, but was not recognized

As described, some models should be powered during restore, and others shouldn’t.
As described, the USB cable should support data transfer, not just charging.
If you can't restore your Apple TV (3rd generation or later), take your Apple TV to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for more help.
