Macbook USB to Multiport adapter

Hi, I'm looking for a Multiport adapter for my macbook. I use a macbook because it is reacquired for my study. In my school they only have apple computers so that's why they recommended me to my a MacBook to follow my study from home. Now I want a Multiport Adapter, because right now I can not connect my laptop to anything... only my charger. I saw one on the apple website that I thought was handy for me but I have my doubts if it is worth the price ($69) Does anyone recommend me one? It does not have to be one from apple just one that does the job! I see so many options online and I just don't know which one to pick.

Thank you

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.14

That allows you to connect an HDMI display and a USB-A device (or hub); the USB-C port in Apple's adapter is only for power.

Be aware that you can find lots of docks/hubs on Amazon in the $50-90 range that offer a bunch of ports, claim dual 4K display support, etc., and usually fall short in many ways. Those docks failing to work as expected are a common question here.

I recommend Elgato, Brydge, OWC, Kensington and Belkin docks. In particular, if you only want to connect a single external display the Brydge Stone (not -Pro) is the most cost effective option (and offers 10 ports), but it's still close to double the cost of Apple's simple adapter.

Can you say specifically what model of Mac you have? Apple menu > About this Mac.

Your implication is that you have the 2015 MacBook that has just one USB-C port, but if you have a different model that will help determine the best dock for you.

The other information needed is what you want to connect – external display(s), hard drive, ethernet, webcam, etc.
