Hard to tell how much power may be in battery; perhaps plug in the adapter

and let it charge for an hour or so. There may be a reset that could help.

"If you experience issues with sleep, wake, power, charging your Mac

notebook battery, or other power-related symptoms, you might need

to reset the SMC (System Management Controller)." See details in link.

Some resets may be able to help, those which act on startup; those

suggest to power-off Mac first, then attempt one; such as NVRAM.

(Try to allow charge time with power adapter first.) ~ Could be Mac

needs to be returned to seller, A.S.A.P. for replacement.

For info for other reset sequence see this link for NVRAM or PRAM.
