Combining PNGs in Motion

I have a couple of hundred PNGs which I would like to combine into an animation.

Could i do this in Motion?

I need each consecutive image to be imported into a single consecutive frame.

Is this possible?

thanks

karl

Hi Karl

This can be done.

Motion can import and run image sequences. You need to create the sequence in Finder first, and then import it.

I use this often, but I'm not an expert on all that happens under the hood with motion and image sequences.

Here's the info you need to get started

Note the rules for naming your files at the bottom.

In finder - in tools I think - you can use the rename feature to create your numbered sequence.

When you go to import - shift select them all and use the 'import as image sequence' option in the import menu.

This will import all the selected files as 1 layer - a bundle of all the images running at 1 frame each.

There are various hazards, but I'm not the expert on those things, but from memory, the file size of your images is very important depending on your system specs and especially if you plan to run the image sequence through an emitter or replicator.

This tutorial uses an older version of Motion UI but everything is still the same

Hope this is enough to get you started, others here will have more advice for you.
