Which version of Garageband do you have. Mine is 10.3.5.

Ah yes, Thank you Keith, although I really wanted to transfer the track to itunes on a wav file so that I can download to a usb stick.
This will help me out for the moment until I find a way to alter the file without using a disc.

One of the options in Share->Export song to disk is WAVE, does that not work?

No this can't be done from Garage. It only shares to itunes in aac format.
Just drag it to iTunes after you put it on the desktop.
