Apple Watch

I’m trying to set up an Apple Watch to my iPhone. It asked me to pair it so I did. But then it won’t update, it gets stuck updating for DAYS. I’ve tried restarting both, connecting to chargers, iPhone is up to date, everything I could find on here. I’ve read it needs to be connected to Wi-Fi to update, but it never gave me the option to set up any Wi-Fi or iCloud information before updating. Since the watch isn’t connected to my iPhone yet, there are no settings options in the watch app on my iPhone either. I can’t figure out what to do.
