automatic app updates

How do I get iphone to automatically update apps. Instructions found via Google are all wrong. There is no "iTunes & App Store" menu choice. None. Nada. Zippo. Ziltch. So much research and I still can't make it work. Why am I a slave to iphone when it should be the reverse?

Hello desired alias!

You should be able to access your iTunes & App Store settings on your iPhone. We'll do all we can to help.

Just to confirm, are you following the steps as outlined in the article below? Depending on your iOS version automatic downloads will be located in Settings > iTunes & App Store or Settings > App Store. Update apps or use automatic downloads

If you're still having trouble do you know if there are any profiles or restrictions enabled on your device? If so this could be the reason why you're unable to enable automatic downloads.

Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone

If you do not have any restrictions or profiles configured we would recommend that you check for an iOS update available. Please make sure that you create a backup before updating.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Keep us updated.

Cheers!

Hey there desired alias!

We'll be happy to provide a bit of insight into Automatic Downloads in the App Store.

If you want a way to automatically download the apps you purchase on one device to download on any other other devices using your Apple ID, you can enable "Apps" under Automatic Downloads. If you just want to update apps automatically on that specific device you enable "App Updates."

Take a look under "Change your App Store settings" in the article below.

Manage App Store purchases, subscriptions, settings, and restrictions on iPhone

We hope that helps clear things up for you.

Regards.
