Lost Contacts and photos

My phone crashed after doing the most recent IOS14 update on my Iphone 6. Phone pics/contact were not manually backed up prior. I was forced to purchase a new phone. All my information is gone. Is there anyway this information can be obtained by Apple even though the phone was not backed up?
