Deleting News App

You can remove News from the Dock if you are accidentally clicking its icon by dragging it up the screen or right-clicking its icon and choose Options > Remove From Dock. If you meant News notifications, you can turn those off in System Preferences > Notifications > News.

You can turn off notifications from the app by going to,

System Preferences > Notifications > News > and toggling off notifications

You can't.
