Iphone XS dictation not working after ios14 update

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We’re glad you decided to reach out about the dictation on your iPhone after updating to iOS 14. We’re happy to see if we can help. 

Before we get started, make sure that you have checked the following:

- Settings > General > Keyboard > Enable Dictation is enabled.

- Cases and screen protectors have been removed.

- No wired or wireless audio devices are connected. 

If you’re still not able to use dictation after you’ve checked those, try restarting your iPhone to see if it helps.

If you’re still not able to activate dictation, we’d like to test these:

- Do you see the microphone icon to start dictation in apps like Messages, Notes, or Mail?

- If you do, and you tap the Dictation icon, does it successfully activate? If it doesn’t, what happens when you try?

- If it does, does it appear to be listening for your speech? If so, how much of what you say is heard? 

Does “Hey Siri” work?

I have the same problem. Dictation starts and a second later it stops and no text is recognized. Thisbe with the German keyboard. But if I switch over to the English keyboard it works. But because I’m German I use the German keyboard more often.

i did a reset of the network settings already.
