cleanmymac causing issues...

Hi - i installed cleanmymac on my late 2015 imac about a month ago, and although it did help me free up some space, i've been having performance issues ever since. tomorrow i will start up from a backup made just before i installed it, but - do i need to uninstall cleanmymac first?

would uninstalling it be sufficient - or do i need to go ahead an start up from a backup? that's what i'm led to believe, that uninstalling won't do the trick by itself - but i'd love to get confirmation. can anyone advise?

thanks!

Since you did have it running for some time and they deleted files (free up space), I would first uninstall it - I believe the app includes an uninstaller - and then reinstall the OS to make sure necessary system components weren't compromised. This may be an overkill, but it's better to be cautious.

There are post like yours all the time, and the answer always the same. Get rid of CleanMyMac! MacOS do not need cleaning apps, or anti-virus apps. It will make things worst! Apparently, follow app procedure to remove it. Click links and read:
