How do I Delete text a message without opening it?

I received a junk text message, which only contains a URL.

This is not a site that I want to visit, but there doesn’t seem to be any way to delete the message without opening it.

Am I wrong, can it be deleted without opening it and possibly allowing malware onto my iPhone?

Thanks in advance

You can SWIPE LEFT on the Sender's name in the message list and choose DELETE. The entire thread will be deleted.

You know, you can always open the message and then choose to delete as you normally do as well. If you are not clicking on the web page and sharing UserIDs and Passwords then you will be perfectly fine.
