Deleting a page from Pages

I want to delete ONE PAGE from Pages, but I can't because it is a part of a section. The section has pages that I need in it, so I can't delete the whole section, but there are multiple empty pages I don't need also in that section and I want to delete them. Is this even possible?

(Note that the quoted statement in the next line OMITS the part regarding deleting these pages).

" [T]here are multiple empty pages I don't need also in that section. Is this even possible? "

No. Genuinely 'empty' pages in a word processing document are not possible.Pages creates two types of documents:

Word processing documents have sections containing one or more pages. Pages creates new pages as they are needed to contain the body text of the document. Every page in a word processing document is there because it is needed to contain something. That 'something' could be as small as a single page break character. Deleting a single page in this type of document is done by removing the content of that page as described by SG above), or by isolating the single page (or group of pages) in a new section, then deleting that section.

Page layout documents have no Document Body (the part that carries the main text stream in a word processing document). Each page of this type of document is a separate section, and may b deleted by choosing its thumbnail in the left sidebar and pressing delete.

"and I want to delete them"

Word processing document:

Select th content of the pages to be deleted. Press delete.

(You may need to go to the View menu and choose Show Invisibles to see the invisible characters in these 'empty' pages. They are also visible when they are selected.

OR

Click immediately after the text on the last page before the pages you want to delete, then Insert a Section Break.

Click immediately after the text (if any) on the last page of the group you want to delete. Insert a second Section Break.

Everything between those two sections breaks is now isolated in a section of its own.

In the left sidebar, select the thumbnail for the first page in that new section.

Press delete to delete the section.

If needed, Show Invisibles, then select and delete the remaining Section Break.

Page Layout document:

In the sidebar:

Click the thumbnail for the first page to be deleted.

Shift-click the thumbnail for the last age to be deleted to add it ant all pages between to the selection.

Press delete.

Barry
