Flexgate

What about flexgate how did you proceed to force Apple to deal with this latent defect. I sent letter to Apple Consumer no response until now.....I have done all what was asked, I sent Apple failure report and proof of purchase.......

I have the same problem with my 2016 MBP. I had this issue not long after my 1 yr warranty. It was not a cheap computer and of course apple wanted to charge me load of money to have the screen replaced. Instead, I took it out to an individual shop to have the screen fix back in 2018. I believe during that time, the screen that I replaced was also manufactured under the old spec, therefore the cable was still too short. Early this year, stage light occurred again. Couple days ago, I took it to Apple shop for the recall. My answer was that because it was fixed outside of apple shop, I am not qualify under this program. Not until I did more research, I've found it was a design fault by apple. Either way, my screen was short whether I took it out to have it fixed or not. **** apple quality! I had been using APPLE products since the 90's. I am so ****** that they do not honor their own fault.
