How much does it cost to get a screen repaired

Any recommendations as to what I can do to get screen repaired or trade in device for discount? It’s a 2017 MacBook Pro 13”

It may not be the screen? It could be the graphics card (part of the main motherboard) or even the LVDS cable that connects the screen to the main board. The cable passes through the hinges and could have got crimped or crushed over time. Depends on how careful you are with it.


Do you see the problem if you connect it to an external monitor or TV? If you don't then its not the graphics card. Anything main motherboard related is expensive. So is the screen. Depending on its resale value and if it turns out to be the motherboard or screen the repair costs will be more than its value.


Best thing for you to do now is to have it diagnosed at an Apple Genius Bar or an Apple Authorised Repair Centre. Diagnosis is free and you'll know for sure either way. Don't be tempted to go anywhere "Back Street" as you may make things worse.
