Watch haptic alarm not transferred to phone when low battery?

I am using the new sleep app with my phone and watch to track my sleep. There does not appear to be an option other than to use the watch haptics as alarm when wearing the watch.

I imagine if the watch loses power or enters power management, the alarm is transferred to the phone. But today, my alarm was going off for almost an hour until I happened to wake up on my own, and noticed no haptics were being sent and my watch was at 6% battery.

Do I just have to set up a backup alarm on the phone to avoid this?

Hi Nate1727,

It sounds like your alarm went off on your iPhone, but not your Apple Watch when using the Sleep app, is that right? We'd love to provide some information.

First up, please make sure your devices meet the requirements to use the Sleep app, more about that here: Track your sleep with Apple Watch

To help ensure your alarms work the way you would like on your Apple Watch with the Sleep app, please check out the "Change sleep options" part of the above link.
