Multicam Audio- mono to stereo FCP 10.4.10

How do I make a mono audio stereo. I shot an interview and the audio is stuck on mono but I can't change the audio configuration.

You can't do that to the multicam clip. Double click the the multicam clip to open it into the multicam editor. Select a clip in there and go to Audio Configurations.

I just looked at my Q: title, I may have misspoken. I am looking to make the clip a dual mono so each R:L Channels play the interview a long winded fix, seems to be detaching the audio from the clip, copying each detached clip, Pan Mode: Basic Surround and for the amount moving the slider to -100 for a mirrored sound to the left channel. There used to be an easier way of doing this...besides making the original track a dual mono before syncing. argh...and of course I made the edits and would rather not start over. does this make sense?
