iPhone 7 Intermittent Loss of WIFI

I keep loosing wifi connection on my iPhone 7 the WIFI symbol is shown but no connection. I have followed some tips such as rebooting the phone wifi system entering the router password etc. It seems to reconnect for a while and then looses the signal. Again the wifi symbol is shown. I have another iPhone 8 and that works ok. In addition the iPhone 7 also seems to get hot! Are the two problems interconnected?

Help please?

Hi geomoore,

Thanks for getting back to us with those additional details. We understand that Wi-Fi seems to be connected on your iPhone 7 but it's not. Let's continue working on this issue together.

To get started, please disable Bluetooth, and test the issue again. Then disable LTE in Settings > Cellular, and test.

The next step we would like to try is, resetting your network settings. You can do this by going to: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Keep in mind, this also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

Please let us know if this helps. Best regards.

Which iOS version is currently running on your iPhone 7? Settings > General > About.

iOS 14.0.1 was recently released, so if you haven’t updated to that, let’s do so now.
