Series 5 watch restarting
My Apple Watch series 5 keeps restarting itself. It will randomly shut Itself off and then restart on it’s on. It seems to have started with the last update. Any ideas on how to fix it?

RESOLVED: I updated to 7.2, the issue continued to occur. My eureka moment was to erase (again for the millionth time) but while on 7.2 - worked like a charm. Haven’t had the issue since. Try erasing and setting up as new one more time!
Just updated my watch as well. Praying it fixes the issue.
Snap! After 3 hours first reboot, then 5 further times during the day.
Update: Did not notice 7.2 has been released. I will update and report back.
Well 7.2 only worked for like a day... ugh! Back to rebooting and still no solid solutions
Nice, I am going to give that a try now. Thank you!
Totally agree!
Is your watch still working correctly?
Hey JeepChic14,
It sounds like you're having an issue with your Apple Watch restarting unexpectedly. We can understand wanting to get that resolved. We want to help.
First, we'd recommend checking for and installing any updates that may be available for your Apple Watch and paired iPhone:
Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
We'd also recommend restarting both your Apple Watch and iPhone if you haven't already to see if that helps:

Thanks!
The battery issue you’re experiencing is also an issue that comes with the constant rebooting since OS7. I also have an Apple Watch 5 and it seems they only have an update to fix the issues with Apple Watch 3. My watch was first replaced and then it still does it with the replacement watch, there’s no scratches or anything on my screen because it’s always had a case. They said they couldn’t figure out what was wrong. It’s definitely the software or either a mixture of software/hardware. I haven’t been able to use the watch since I’ve gotten it (1 month after).

Well I have contacted support twice now and both times they had me erase my watch and set it up as new and do updates!! It will work great for a day and then back to resetting!! The last time they did a diagnostics test and informed me that the watch has never reset.... I have video of it doing it’s thing but the chat help option doesn’t support it.... So wishing that I would’ve purchased the Garmin instead!!
I’m starting to think I’ll reach out to active sports sites to highlight that Apple Watch is not an option if you want to record a whole run and having gone to Apple from Garmin, like you I’ll go back
(Also posted on a reply below) I was trying to wait a full week before posting here to see if I had any issues, but it’s been four days now and the issue seems to be resolved with the latest watchOS 7.1 update. Hopefully, everything is good with everyone else’s watch as well after the update. Btw, I have Apple Watch 5.
Well, it appears that my issue is not fixed like I previously thought after the recent update. I wore my watch out today and it started rebooting after a few hours, it’s now been stuck on the Apple logo for a couple of hours. As I previously stated before, my watch hasn’t worked almost since I purchased it (about 9-10 months or so ago) and if the issue isn’t fixed after Christmas, then I’m suing. This is really being neglected and getting out of hand. Watch 5
I have the same issue. Watch keeps "rebooting" all the time (going to the apple logo), it's killing the battery and ankles the watch unusable at this point.
I've done all the usual, updated to latest on watch phone, restarted phone, restarted watch. Deleted watch and re-added.
This has been going on ever since the release of Watch Os 7. Once in a while I get a stable watch and it seems that the problem is more acute when the battery is getting low but that might be a false positive. Today, full charge and after 3 hours, I've seen the main screen for a literal 5 seconds. Now I'm seeing the 10% power reserve and it keeps vibrating my wrist at each reboot.
Beyond frustrated and annoyed at this point, especially when we keep getting the same troubleshooting crap and there is no acknowledgement of the problem.
Hey JeepChic14,
Thanks for trying those steps.
