USB Accessories Disabled

This problem started occurring a few days ago. I have a USB hub for my 2020 MacBook Air, that suddenly stopped connecting. It was working perfectly fine, with the things I had connected to it; a keyboard, 2nd monitor, wireless mouse and charging cable for my phone, and then my computer had a little bit of a fit. I have no idea if this is the cause, but my AC broke, so my computer was having to work in 90 degree temperatures, which seemed to make it very laggy and made work very hard, after that I updated to MacOS Catalina 10.15.7. First my second monitor stopped connecting and the next day every time I plug my USB hub in, I get a notification that "USB devices are disabled". The charging port works, but nothing else even connects. I've looked up a few fixes and none of them seem to have worked. There seem to be different solutions and I don't know which one fits my computer.

Hi Tayen,

We see your USB accessories aren't currently responding on your Mac. What macOS version are you using? Also, is it mentioning any of the USB devices taking up too much power? If so, check over the steps in If a Mac accessory needs more power or is using too much power.

Also, be sure to reset the SMC on that MAC as it can help with the as well with the USB: How to reset the SMC of your Mac.

Cheers!

I get this message when I connect my iPhone or my iPad but not with my iPod. It appears to have no effect, i.e., all my USB devices seem to work fine. However, it is disturbing for the screen to go black and give this seemingly bogus error message. I never saw that on my 2013 MacBook Pro, but on my new 16-inch MacBook Pro which I got this week, it happens every time. Seems to be a hardware bug since I was running 10.15.7 on both machines. I have been reporting it to Apple on their feedback page, but there's no response so far.
