vertical blue line iPad

My iPad has a blue vertical line and I don’t know what happened.

A forced-restart may be helpful - as this will often resolve an isolated issue:


  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On an iPad with Face ID: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.



If the restart doesn’t resolve the issue, take a screenshot of the screen - and examine the screenshot in the Photos App.

Do you see the blue line in the captured screenshot? Of not, then you have a hardware screen fault - that can only be resolved by way of a repair.
