iphone x touch unresponsive

The touch on my iPhone X display suddenly stopped working. Apple support said that it is a known issue and will be replaced under the faulty parts warranty; as long as there is no physical damage on the phone.

So I submit it to an authorized service center that apple support booked an appointment for. But after a week I get a call that my iPhone X is not repairable because they tried to change the screen but did not work.

Then apple support India cited that the apple repair center hardware team mentioned that there is internal damage on the phone. It's such a big coincidence that apple found a excuse for the same problem that their faulty iPhone X displays are having. I should stress that the iPhones screen was working, I was even getting calls; it was just the touch that completely unresponsive and I did not have any liquid damage or any physical damage on the phone.

Is apple trying to dupe me by stating some vague excuse of internal damage because they were unable to repair the device? Am I being taken for a ride cause nobody can give me an explanation as to what the problem with my phone is and why its manifesting the same exact problem as their faulty parts iPhone X.

iPhone X, iOS 13

Just to clarify, I did not choose any repair location per se. Apple support found an authorised repair/service center and send me there under their Display module replacement program. Also the service center refuses to give any clarification even to the apple service manager and is holding my phone ransom and asking for diagnostic fees/cost before returning my unrepaired device back. Completely unprofessional people - didnt even diagnose the problem properly, but want fees for the un-rendered diagnosis.
