Are you referring to Home Sharing? Downloaded from where? Files from other sources than Apple may have sync issues on the file level that Apple’s media player can’t correct. Those files would need editing.
Apple’s iTunes Store downloads or Apple TV app Channel downloads would be synced correctly and play in sync, and not need any adjustment. If it happens with an iTunes Store purchase, then you can report it as a problem with your purchase.
