English language

I changed my TV app language to Spanish and now I can't change it back to English. English and Default/Original are not in the list. I have tried reinstalling but that doesn't change anything. Same on my iPad 2019 and iPad Pro gen 4. Thanks.

Change the language format in the Apple TV app

In Settings on iPad - TV App - Languages


For Apple TV:

Change the language on your Apple TV - Apple Support

Check your region as well:

Go to General > Region and select a region.


Change the language on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Use the search field if necessary to find the language.

Mine is the same as yours, no English in the list. I thought you meant in iPad settings,

From the show, it only changes the subtitles, not the audio. I tested French Audio to see if they spoke French but this only changed the subtitles to French. The language options are not working in this show, they only adjust the subtitles

This might be the fix:

Try another show, Try Tiny World. I just tested that one and it was stuck on French from the Tehran one I had tested first. It has a correct list to select English - Click Done. Hopefully this works for you and should change it for all shows.

How were you able to change it to Spanish? In settings > TV App?

It’s the only place I can see where you can change the language for Apple TV App.

If reinstalling the app didn’t help, I’m not sure what else can fix it. Unless you take it out of the up next, continue watching, mark it as watched. Then restart it fresh. If the file was faulty, I’d have it as well. Sounds more like it’s something you did on your iPad. Which only a reset all settings might fix, this means you start setting up your iPad from scratch though, so not the best fix.


How did it end up on both though? Did you change it on both? I ask this because I wonder if your Apple ID marked this as a preference for this show and signing out of that on both iPads might work


Try restarting your iPad until the Apple logo appears,


see if you can add language; type in English to see if it comes up.

Hi,thanks again for your suggestions, however mine worked.


Please we the image below. This is on the Audio/Sub menu of the show - English isn't there. Spanish is off screen, but ticked. English is in the subtle list. Adding English to the TV settings menu does nothing. Looks like the meta data for the episodes hasn't been set correctly.

Yes I see that the default language is Hebrew. Mine was in English until a changed it to Spanish :(

The list of languages in the text description shows English, but it isn't in the language selection for the episodes. I think that this is an admin problem ie someone forgot to enter it. I don't know if there is any way to get it fixed.
