my XML file is not being updated. I need to be able to activate this so i can share correct playlist info with Roon. I found some advice below but wonder if it is for windows only? (that was the platform used by the original poster).
I just can't find this option on my mac. In music my options under the edit tab are:
can anyone point me to the option re sharing the XML files?

ok, it looks like Catalina stopped the XML updating for Mac so Roon is just grabbing the most recent info from my 2019 .XML. Not great. I'll see if i can export my current playlists as an XML file that Roon can read.
As noted Music in Catalina no longer generates an XML file automatically. You should be able to use File > Library > Export Library to create one which you can manually update as you change your library.
