Asurion Returned Phone FMP Still ON/Locked
We had replaced an Iphone through Asurion insurance, and had to send the replacement back within a week because it stopped working, so we were sent another. After about a month Asurion started sending texts/emails that the phone was locked and we had to turn it off or be charged $300. The phone had been removed and our Find My Phone only showed the devices we currently use.
RESULT - Upon calling Asurion a very helpful rep confirmed the phone was locked and walked me through steps to correct that. Again no other phones were shown on our FMP account and thus couldn't be rectified and couldn't understand why. Then I was told to contact APPLE, but when I suggested it was a "Them" problem and not really a "Me" problem that I should have to deal with the rep dug farther. The rep thought maybe the phone had been sent out again and contacted their 'Adjusters' who indeed confirmed the phone had been sent out again and was in use by another person and it was an error.
Be persistent and make sure they make thorough notes of the call.
