Hey there Jillalex77,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand you’d like to know if you can compare 2 PDF’s using Preview. We’ll be happy to help with this.

What exactly do you mean by compare PDFs? You can open both PDF files and put them side by side to view and compare. Take a look at these articles for more info:

View PDFs and images in Preview on Mac

Display PDFs and images as a slideshow in Preview on Mac

You can find more info on highlighting PDF’s and doing more, using the Preview User Guide here:

Preview User Guide for Mac

Feel free to provide more info on how you want to compare your files as well. We can provide more info if needed.

We hope this helps.

Take care.

Use Keyboard Shortcuts:

I recommend Selecting All and then Using Find. See if it all comes up the same.

Using the keyboard You Would:

In PDF Document 1:

  1. Highlight: A Paragraph
  2. Right-Click: the Highlighted Text:
  3. Select: Copy

In PDF Document 2:

  1. Highlight: A Paragraph
  2. Right-Click: the Highlighted
  3. Go to: Edit menu
  4. Select: Paste

Then, see if it shows the same. If not, there is a difference.
