Your laptop can run up to the current version of macOS which is 10.15 Catalina, but beware that Catalina no longer supports 32 bit apps. You should either upgrade any third party 32 bits apps to 64 bit versions if available or uninstall those 32 bit third party apps before you attempt to upgrade macOS to Catalina.

You can also just upgrade to macOS 10.14 Mojave which does support 32 bit apps.

You can use this Apple article to find links to macOS 10.11 to 10.15 installers as well as instructions for creating a bootable macOS USB installer.

I highly recommend you create a bootable macOS USB installer just in case something goes wrong during the upgrade process.

I also highly recommend you have a good backup before starting the upgrade.

FYI, I know some of the Cricut products requires the use of Adobe Flash which may be a problem since Flash is being deprecated at the end of the year and will no longer be supported or available (on any OS). I don't know if this is the case for your Cricut, but hopefully the Cricut software has been updated to not need Adobe Flash. My sister had this problem since I gave her a Linux computer which didn't have Flash so I advised her to use her iPad when using the Cricut.
