Motion title template settings to support an FCPX project that has Wide Gamut HDR

Hi Luis and Fox_M

An editor has color trouble with a template. The report is that the title template colours are faded and greyish when loaded in the HLG project.

The editors project is

4K

4096x2160 /23.98 fpd

Apple ProRes 4444XQ

Wide Gamut HDR -Rec 2020 HLG

Raw settings

4096x2160 /23.98

rec 2020 HLG

I'm going to prepare some alternative version of the template to correct this. I read up on the topics at apple support.

All I see that I can do from the template side is to enable Wide Gamut HDR. That part is clear.

But I am confused about the 'override FCPX color space'

If I enable this, and leave the template as standard - will that force the rec 2020 HLG project to display the title template graphic as normal?

Is it the case the enabling Wide Gumat will make the template colours obey the HLG project and that enabling override FCPX color space will make the HFL project obey the template color - for the graphics

..so are these options both two sides of the coin...they will both restore the correct color?

Or should I use both at the same time?

Thanks in advance for your help
