Apple ID

Even though I’m logged into my Apple ID, I’m asked repeatedly to enter my Apple ID password for each app that need to be updated. The “update all”option doesn’t work and I have my phone set to automatically update apps always without having to ask. What could be the issue and how can I fix this?
