Does the iPad Air (October 2020 version) charge the Apple Pencil 2 magnetically?

Hi all,

The next version of iPad Air is due to be launched this month, October 2020. I have read that it supports the Apple Pencil 2.

What I can find information on is whether or not the new iPad Air supports wireless charging of the Apple Pencil 2 and if the Apple Pencil 2 will magnetically attach to the iPad Air similarly to the iPad Pro.

Any help in clarifying this would be appreciated.
