Why would Apple change what is not broken?

So, it would seem I am not the only one with this issue and it looks like this has been an issue for some months. Why would Apple change the way a photo is attached to an email? What purpose does it serve to make someone have to send an email to themselves...so that they then have to save the file to their computer to make it an attachment, rather than the imbedded photo that it sends? It worked exactly the way that was needed before. I snapped a photo, it made it an attachment, and it was easy. Now I have 5 extra steps I have to take that includes saving the files I do not need to my pc...just to send the photo in the format that worked before. I was hoping to find a simple way to change it back to the way that works. But, as I can see this has been an issue for months. Disappointing considering how many people have asked this same question. Looks like I no longer have a desire or need for this device if it going to change the way it functions and cause extra work for me during my day. Android works exactly as it was supposed to and it appears as though Apple has done nothing to change back or make optional how the photos attach. What a waste of my time.
