how can I change my Apple ID to a different email address for which I have a 200GB icloud account.

Why can I not change my Apple Account to a different email address? I deleted the old account but the iCloud continues to access that email while I want it to recognize my new email address that is now tied to my apple account.

Did you sign out from iCloud before you deleted the old ID?

Make sure that you sign out of all your devices to avoid issues with apps that use your Apple ID account or iCloud. After your account is deleted, you can't sign out of iCloud or turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock on your devices. If you forget to sign out, you might not be able to use your device when your account is deleted.
