apple watch microphone

I have a new apple watch 6. I can hear callers if i call them or if they call me but they cannot hear me although there is an echo of my voice in the watch ( the other phone is inthe same room so that might explain that part i guess)

I have gone through steps from the internet to enable dictation, siri, siri even when locked, reset and factory reset (pair and unpair ) the phone without luck

My iphone is a 10 . Prior to the 6 i had an apple watch 2. I dont think microphone worked on that either.

More suggestions?

Hi heinz116,

We understand other people aren't able to hear you on phone calls. We're happy to help!

First you'd want to identify if the microphone doesn't work at all, or if the issue is specific to phone calls. Go in to the Voice Memos application on your watch and make a quick recording. When you play it back, see if it was able to capture what you said or not.

We'd also recommend checking to see if anything is blocking the microphone. The microphone hole is located right between the Digital Crown and Side Button.

Your Apple Watch

If you have any sort of case or protective film covering that area, remove it then test the microphone again.

If you continue to have issues, you'd want to contact Apple Support directly: Get Support

We hope this helps. Take care!
