iPhone 7 charging

So my phone was at 1% last night so I plugged in the charger and went to sleep. I woke the next morning and it was still at 1% even though it had the lightening bolt in the battery icon. (It was like that when I plugged it in the night before) all finally sudden it died while still plugged into the charger. I used a different charger and still nothing is working. I don’t want to have to get it fixed so if there is anything I can do at home let me know. If it comes down to repairing it professionally I will. What’s wrong with my iPhone 7 and what can I do to fix it?
