I try activating the new Word . I get to the part where I give my email address and nothing happened.
I suggest that you contact Microsoft support for assistance with this matter as the Word app is a Microsoft product.

FWIW, I have been a long-time Microsoft Office user. So long that I would have to be carbon-dated. ;)
Anyways, I currently have a Microsoft 365 subscription, and any time I came across an activation issue (rarely), Microsoft Support was quick to get it resolved. Hopefully, this will be the same for you.
