Still receiving texts from blocked numbers

After I updated my iPhone 8 to iOS 14, I started having problems where numbers I’ve blocked are still able to text me, and I am still able to text them. I have double checked to make sure they are on my blocked list, I have tried to turn iMessage off, I have made sure texts are going through to my phone number, and I have looked all over the internet for an answer to this problem, to no avail. Please for the love of god tell me how to fix this, tired of getting texts from horrible people I try to block

If the person you have blocked, has a secondary contact (Start new conversation from) they can bypass the block you have on their number, and contact you on imessage using an email (usually) while still appearing under the number you have blocked. if you cannot locate that secondary contact and block that as well, they will still be able to contact you. I’m not sure about android users still contacting you though.

My phone is doing the same thing but only for Android users. I have a contact and they will not leave me alone so I thought blocking them would do the trick. Nope. They’re still messaging me. Apple needs to correct this. I did the restart after blocking so hopefully this is a quick fix. I just need the peace of mind that they can’t contact me anymore.

IPhones are garbage now. A lot of us are having this problem as well as having to reconnect our phones Bluetooth to the car every time we get in it. I never had these issues with my old IPhone 6 Plus. I had to upgrade because of lack of storage to the 11, but , dang, I miss that phone. My daughter x husband is on a tangent today, and I have blocked him repeatedly. The phone calls have stopped, but I am still receiving the nonstop texts.

Same issue here. I had this issue happen once on an older iPhone. It's worked until recently. Today, I tried to block someone who is harassing me and they were still able to text me. I had to go to my carrier and try to block them that way. Hopefully it works. I hate how so many people will have an issue but it will go ignore as seems to be the case here.

Same issue with iPhone 11 Pro. It’s an Android phone that is able to get through my block. This person knows how to use spy apps and all of that stuff, so I just figured this person may also know some hack to force an unblock; but after reading all your messages, I think it’s an Apple issue. Please fix this. I don’t want to read this person’s ugly, hurtful words, but if I receive it, I can’t help but read it. Grrrrrrrrrr

What you’re describing is simply ’turning your phone off, and then turning it back on’ it’s not a ’soft reset.’

Anyone, correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m fairly certain of that.

In any case, I will try to ’restart’ my phone, to see if that enables blocked callers to actually be ’blocked.’

I’m still receiving text msgs from a blocked number and I’m hoping this will fix it.
